The 2019 crisis in Venezuela grows darker as blackouts continue with no end in sight but apart from the complete lack of basic necessities, locals remain optimistic.
“My life is not being threatened”, said our local correspondent, blinking rapidly. “Everything is fine in Venezuela and this is definitely not another coup attempt by the CIA.”
“There is really nothing going on and we’re getting quite used to having two Presidents”, said one local official we interviewed. “I’m quite confident this whole situation will work itself out without requiring the U.S. or China to intervene and steal our natural resources.”
